Gypsum Artwork Gallery
The “Libero Andreotti” gypsum artworks gallery is located in the historic center of Pescia and exhibits an extraordinary collection of 230 gypsum models from Libero Andreotti’s studio, a famous sculptor (b. 1875 d. 1933) who lived between Paris, where he made the acquaintance of Rodin and Bourdelle, and Florence.
The works on display follow the artistic and creative growth of this eclectic artist from Pescia: a sculptor as well as a portraitist and a ceramicist. He also collaborated with Giò Ponti and lent his talent to the Ginori manufacturing company. His creations blend in total harmony with the recently restored historical building where they are displayed, the ancient Palazzo del Podestà or Palagio (Governor’s Palace), thus adding a fascinating and enticing glamour to the entire setting.
