The Valdinievole valley has appealing surprises in store for contemporary art lovers.
If you are keen on the first decades of the 20th century with a special focus on art nouveau, your final destination cannot be but Montecatini Terme, which will delight your eyes with its tree-bordered avenues, historical buildings and the marvelous thermal establishments that are distinguished by the refined touch of highly renowned artists, such as Galileo Chini and Basilio Cascella. But, other locations are also worth a visit, such as Pescia, which hosts the “Libero Andreotti” Gypsum Artworks Gallery, named after the famous sculptor and displaying 230 gypsum models from his studio.
If you are a passionate about contemporary artists, you absolutely must head for the monumental Park of Pinocchio in Collodi, displaying works accomplished by Giovanni di Michelucci, the masterpieces by Venturi, Consagra, Greco, Zanuso and, with regard to landscape architecture, Porcinai.
